Red Hot Drop:-
Ann - Vocals: - Formerly known as 'Little Annie' from the Country Music circles, where she had worked with Ken Dodd and the Nolan Sisters. Ann is now making a singing comeback after a long enforced break. She is enjoying the new direction of soul/funk/jazz of Red Hot Drop and the company of a great bunch of musicians.
Dave - Guitar:- Originally from London, Dave has played in a number of bands in the London area and also as an acoustic duo. He also guested a number of times with the musical eclectic and renowned educator Dave Ramm on the pub jazz circuit in London. On moving North Dave's guitars spent most of their time in their cases but in recent years he has returned to playing more and finding a group of like minded musicians has taken to practicing every day [well that's what I tell the others!]. Guitar influences- Carlos Santana, Pat Metheney, Larry Carlton, Jeff Beck.
Bill - Bass:- Bill started playing bass because he wanted to be Bruce Foxton. His first band only performed Jam songs. Unfortunately that was before the word "tribute" had been coined, in those days you were just copying. Signed to the same agency as 60s singing star Dave Berry, Bill cut his gigging teeth in the hostile club environment of North East Derbyshire. The money was good but, when Brian the Singing Miner became a more popular draw to fill in between the bingo, a disillusioned Bill left the area to seek fame and fortune elsewhere. He didn't find it. But he did keep it real and over the years he has been privileged to play some of the country's larger venues and with some its more celebrated artistes.
Some time ago Bill broke his arm in a bizarre dog walking accident and thought he had hung up his gig bag for the last time. However he has been tempted out of retirement with the promise of playing red hot funk with a great group of like-minded musicians. His arm still hurts though."
Andy - Sax:- Andy has played sax in swing and in jazz bands for a very long time, but five years ago he fell in love. With soul music.
He does not own a dog!
